Journey of a Condemned Western Cedar from the New forest

The journey of a condemned Western Red Cedar from the New Forest

transformed into a beautiful piece of furniture,

bringing nature into our living environments, sustainably

"The Journey"

(Two River Re-fill)

This is the short story of a breakfast bar,

sold to a Zero waste shop, hand picked by our client and consciously prepared for installation into their business premises

!This was a dead standing Western Red Cedar in the area of the new forest.

It was removed by me and a team of tree surgeons because it was a safety concern.

It was then milled by myself and a colleague (cut into two inch boards).

It has been air dried at Twisted Oaks yard for a period of over three years,

before being hand picked by Two River Re-fill for their shop.

It has then been sanded and worked into the state that you can see today.

It has been treated with an eco friendly/solvent free finish to make it a food safe product.

It was then installed into its new home on Sunday the 18th of September 2022

This project was particularly exciting because this was an unsafe tree transformed into something beautiful

that's the Business Model for Twisted Oak
